Faces of Malawi

I’m still in the process of editing photos from my recent trip to Malawi but I’ve had numerous requests to post a few images, so here’s a selection of portraits which I’m posting under the ‘Faces of’ section . Malawi prides itself on being the warm heart of Africa and I can certainly confirm this claim, from the beginning of my trip to the very end I was made extremely welcome in the communities. I was humbled by the willingness of people to share their stories and food with me and I’ve made a lot of new friends. The extent of the poverty in Malawi was sobering and I think some of the shots below show that, especially as you look into the eyes of some of the children. However, there was a real sense of pride in the achievements these communities have made as they strive towards a better future.

    Congratulations..

Thanks for your kind comments Lorna. Hopefully we’ll get to work together again in the future. Many of my photos are only possible because of the amazing work that such as yourself and other OI staff have already done in these communities. It’s a privilege for me to be able to see the fruits of your endeavours.

    Thanks again.

    Wayne
