Real Lives – Chaka

As I look out of my office window and see the thick covering of snow it’s hard to believe that only a few weeks ago I was walking through the hot and dusty streets of Malembeka in Zambia. Although I only had a few days in the country I was privileged to meet several people who were willing to talk about their life situation. I met Chaka and his mum Mwenzi and they were eager to share their story with me. It isn’t easy to get across the depth of their situation through photos but hopefully these images and short narrative will give you a glimpse into their world. As always, I’m so grateful and honoured to have the opportunity to share these stories with you.

It’s amazing to see the determination and hope in eyes of these children. Life is rough in Zambia but with educations, skills development the poverty cycle will slow be broken. I look forward to the day that the thousands of Chaka’s in Zambia will be able to have better opportunities.

    Thanks for sharing.
