It seems a long while since I posted a Real Lives piece so I thought it was time to resolve that. Although my last couple of posts have been from my recent trip to Sri Lanka I wanted to share the story of a girl we met there called Farhana.
I also produced a video interview with Farhana so you may want to check this out. My daughter Amy was willing to do the voiceover for me.
As I look out of my office window and see the thick covering of snow it’s hard to believe that only a few weeks ago I was walking through the hot and dusty streets of Malembeka in Zambia. Although I only had a few days in the country I was privileged to meet several people who were willing to talk about their life situation. I met Chaka and his mum Mwenzi and they were eager to share their story with me. It isn’t easy to get across the depth of their situation through photos but hopefully these images and short narrative will give you a glimpse into their world. As always, I’m so grateful and honoured to have the opportunity to share these stories with you.
